Degree Level : Master of Computer Science
Why are you in the class?
There are several reasons for me taking the course CPSC 656 : Computers and New Media.
- Being a Master's student in Computer Science and with two years of work experience in the computer science industry, I wish to explore how computer and software affects media.
- This course explores a very interesting topic(as the course website mentions) that is how computers and software affects author/director of a form of media, reader/viewer of the form of media and the relationship between them.
- Another aspect of interest in this course is the kind of computer related media suitable for the kind of communication and information to be conveyed.
- Also, this course involves working for a project in a group of 5-6 students, which will help me in using computer science ideas related to web and user experience and combine perspective of various people to build a software product useful for media.
- Working with students from non-computer science discipline will provide me with a more user-oriented perspective to software and make improvisations.
